Hardcover. Zustand: Fair. Verschmutzung. In September 2011, a diverse group of scientists, artists, and writers set out on an expedition to North-West Svalbard, Norway, aboard the M/S Stockholm. Each participant documented their experiences from unique professional and personal perspectives, aiming to explore the relationship between humanity and nature. This artistic account is interwoven with scientific documentation, reflecting ongoing concerns about global warming and its potential to disrupt ecosystems and urban communities. The cultural perception of the Arctic is evolving as the realities of climate change reshape our understanding of this frozen north. The journey mapped various sites along the northern shores of the Polar Sea, each rich with natural and cultural narratives. The book captures the expedition's encounters, blending the poetics of artists and photographers with the insights of environmental writers and researchers. It draws upon the history of photography and earlier travel accounts, while addressing pressing contemporary issues. Ultimately, it presents a tapestry of shifting voices emerging from a wild and transformative place.…

Daniel Lagerl÷fÆs body of work presented here is extremely varied, as it has been organized into four sections: Still Lifes, Landscapes, Portraits, and the Word. For example, though the title ôStill Lifeö conjures an image of apples and pears, Lagerl÷fÆs own version consists of a pictorial series on buildings. In these pictures, he initially draws the buildings in parallel perspective, giving them an expanded and rigid, dispassionate and seemingly real character. Then, the drawings were digitized and given different shades of grey, thus receiving a diffuse, artificial illumination. In the end, they become mere associations to architecture, while having no relation to buildings in reality. A truly innovative collection of work organized in a stunning layout., Swedish/ English, YearNo year, Illust. B/W38, Illust. Color, ISBN 9187214865, Code 3980. Prima edizione (First Edition). .
