Saddle-stitched brochure with binding thread exposed. About 1/8" inch at the spine is faded. Otherwise, minor shelf wear to cover. Binding is strong. Book is printed on pink card stock. From the library of J.P. Mayer (1903 - 1992) with his neat book stamp on the front endpaper. J. P. Mayer was the advisory editor for the Arno Press series. Later he became professor Emeritus at Reading University and authored books on De Tocqueville, Max Weber and French political thought. He fled to England in 1936 having been a leading figure in the anti-Nazi movement in Germany. He then worked for Britain in the Ministry of Economic Warfare.
