2000, New York, The Spanish Institute, 4to, pp143, black and white photographic illustrations by Valent?? Claverol, folding colour map frontispiece, blue cloth in dustwrapper. Very atmospheric black and white photographs from this tiny principality in the Pyrenees. Many Civil War refugees passed through neutral Andorra needing photographs for their documents. Although material was in short supply, Claverol photographed them in groups and cut them up. There are some ten pages of photos of refugees amongst the compelling material contained here. A paper fault has left a crease across first half a dozen pages, otherwise very good.…
