Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - 'The Art of Interrogation' is a seminal exploration into the mechanics of questioning and its profound impact on education and psychology. Written by E. R. Hamilton, this work delves into the theoretical and practical aspects of mental tests and examinations, offering a rigorous analysis of how information is elicited and assessed. Hamilton examines the structure of questions, the logic behind inquiry, and the psychological principles that govern the interaction between examiner and examinee. The book addresses the essential role of the interrogation process in identifying cognitive abilities and measuring academic progress. By dissecting the 'art' of asking, Hamilton provides educators, psychologists, and students of logic with a framework for creating more effective and fair assessments. He discusses the nuances of wording, the pitfalls of ambiguity, and the importance of clarity in pedagogical settings.A significant contribution to early 20th-century educational theory, 'The Art of Interrogation' remains a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of mental testing and the evolution of instructional techniques. It highlights the importance of precise communication and the cognitive science underlying the exchange of knowledge. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it. In den WarenkorbFirst Edition. 21 x 15cm. Paperback, 9pp. A small enigmatic artistic zine evocative of the magical culture-manipulations of groups such as Genesis P-Orridge s Thee Temple ov Psychick Youth, but otherwise conceptually opaque. Nathan Coles was noted as a member of the "utterly mindfucking ErP" in an interview published elsewhere (in the first issue of TOPY's journal 'Ov'). Begins with a distressed, re-appropriated textbook essay on sound waves and acoustics, conveying technological angst. Features a Dictionary of Familiar Things; a list of semi-familiar, near-nonsense words and their meanings. Odd and unrecorded. (ref: 023).

In den WarenkorbOriginal copper engraving (44 x 60 cm, overall sheet 55 x 68 cm). Tissue guard to verso. From "A Collection of Prints. Illustrating the Dramatic Works of Shakespeare." published by Boydell, London, 1803. In 1789, the publisher John Boydell opened the Shakespeare Gallery, an exhibition space in London's Pall Mall showcasing paintings that exclusively represented scenes from Shakespeare's plays. The Gallery was a bid to revive 'history painting' (the practice of depicting scenes from the Bible, mythology or the classics) in contemporary British art, a genre thought to be of great public benefit because of its morally instructive messages. What better unifying theme for such a project than the works of Shakespeare, which had become so popular and so integral to British identity by the mid-18th century? The Gallery opened in May 1789 with 34 canvases by 18 British artists. By the next year there were 55 paintings and in 1796 the total was 84, along with dozens of 'Small Pictures'. Once the exhibition was mounted, reproductive engravings of the paintings produced by an in-house team of 46 printmakers were available to purchase, either as a large portfolio of 90 prints or as a luxurious illustrated edition of the plays. (The British Library).
