Sole edition. 8vo. xii, 308 pp. Publisher's red buckram, gilt to the spine and upper cover, later bookplate of a Gordon Everson to the front pastedown , that owner's name and address to the opposing free endpaper along with pencilled annotations, loosely inserted is a long typescript (presumably by Everson) titled "The Medals of Major Gerorge ("Maori") Hamilton-Browne" comprising several conjoined sheets describing a group of Browne's medals that the writer had acquired and an account of his military career. Frontispiece portrait of author as he was in 1879 and eleven plates. Some fading to the covers, a little foxing to the front and rear leaves, else very good. George Hamilton-Browne (1844-1916) served with Natal Native Contingent during the Anglo-Zulu War of 1879.…
