Contents very fresh and neat with all plates present and in excellent condition. Zusammen mit Werner von Siemens und Max Wilhelm Meyer gründete Foerster 1888 die astronomische Gesellschaft Urania. Zwei Briefe auf Geschäftspapier des U.S. Naval Observatory Washington D.C. mit gestochener Ansicht der Sternwarte. Die Briefe inhaltlich interessant. Fragen zu astronomischen Themen (Reise Halls nach Sibirien "I returned here about five weeks ago from my trip to Behring Seas and have been busy since in reducing our observations for time, latitude made at Plover Bay in Eastern Siberia") sowie über Sonnenfinsternisse und Planeten. Außerdem erwähnt Hall in einem Brief vom 24. Mai 1878 die von ihm entdeckten Marsmonde Phobos und Deimos und bittet Förster ihm Daten zuzuschicken, sollten in der Sternwarte Berlin Beobachtungen zu den beiden Trabanten gemacht worden sein.
