Andrew Jackson forced the Creek Confederacy to cede over 20 million acres of land in Alabama and Georgia. With the ownership signature "A.W. Halbert / Starkville, Miss." on the front endpaper. Howes H-28: "Careful and detailed monograph on Alabama's last border war." Hinges staring, a good copy, but much better than usually encountered. Original plum cloth (flecked), gilt spine title (dull), floral endpapers. (9112).
