His narrative includes an entertaining and informative account of the Polar Eskimos, of travelling by the Eskimo method of living off the land; remarks on the birds, and animals seen on Ellesmere, on the geography of Heilberg and the Ringnes Islands; and the discovery of Haig-Thomas Island.
