Neuware - Presenting a complete s-band receiver for a phase-comparison monopulse (PCM) tracking radar, thisthesis offers a detailed design and implementationof various sub-systems used to realize the receiver. The thesis provides a comprehensive understanding ofphase-comparison monopulse (PCM) radar and how anypre-comparator and post-comparator unbalances can becompensated to improve the performance of the radar. It also explains the design, implementation andmeasurement of several passive sub-systems (abalanced 0/180 microwave hybrid, microwave parallel-coupled-microstrip-line filters, combline filtersand harmonic suppression power dividers) and activesub-systems (phased-locked frequency synthesizers, amplifiers and mixers). Besides, a system levelanalysis of the receiver and methods used toevaluate the performance of the receiver and radarare explained in detail.…
