The Chater-Cosmo Transactions brought together historical and scholarly research on Freemasonry in the region, encompassing the history of individual lodges and chapters, Masonic organisation and ritual, and the interaction of Freemasonry with Chinese culture, philosophy and religion. The papers range widely in subject, with contributions on such topics as early Freemasonry in Hong Kong, Chinese philosophy, the Masonic history of José Rizal, Freemasonry in India and Japan, women and Freemasonry, and the structure and traditions of the Craft. The five volumes offered here span material published between 1982 and 1991, including the retrospective volume drawing together earlier material from 1958-1971.
