(pp. 605-609, 20 figures) expose les premiers travaux de l'équipe de Talairach sur le sujet ; ces travaux aboutiront à la publication de l'Atlas d'anatomie stéréotaxique des noyaux gris centraux en 1957. Cet article est divisé en 3 parties : Etude critique des techniques basées sur le procédé de Horsley Clarke ; Le repérage direct par téléradiographie des espaces ventriculaires et sous-arachnoïdiens, lignes de base ventriculaires ; Intérêt physiopathologique et thérapeutique. Les auteurs montrent que "les repérages stéréotaxiques dérivés du principe de Horsley Clarke sont grevés d'une trop grande imprécision". Ils démontrent qu'il est " plus exact de pratiquer des repérages par rapport à des lignes de base propres aux structures : lignes de base de l'étage moyen (commissure ant., commissure post.), ligne de base de l'étage postérieur (IVe Ve) à partir desquelles peuvent être établies des cartes topographiques standard. Le repérage téléradiographique du système ventriculaire et des espaces sous-arachnoïdiens permet d'adapter la carte standard aux cas pathologiques particuliers." 2°) L'article de FISCHGOLD et al. (pp. 599-601, 10 fig. dont 4 en couleurs) est également important et magnifiquement illustré. Après un rappel historique (depuis Breschet), les auteurs rapportent deux procédés d'opacification veineuse (intra-épineuse et intra-diploïque), avec les résultats obtenus (étude des courants, avec notion de pression veineuse intra-osseuse et influence de la position de la tête et du cou et des lois de la pesanteur). In a very good cond…ition. A very nice copy. ~ FIRST EDITION. SIGNED BY AUTHOR. Dr. Marinus Willem Clemens (sometimes quoted as Clement) Gori, (1834-1890). Gori was Medical Officer in the Dutch Army, wrote extensively on the subject and became later a university lecturer. He studied ophthalmology, writing his doctoral thesis "Contribution for New Hospital Hygiene". In 1870 he left the military and became ophthalmologist but remained active in the area of military medicine, surgery and hygiene. He was often commissioned by the Dutch government to attend world exhibitions and congresses on the subject, mostly as Head of Delegate, and submit his reports. The present title is such a report on two major world exhibitions on military surgery held in 1876 in Philadelphia and in Bruxelles. This copy was in the past in the collection of a military institution and is adorned with old small shelf tickets on cover and spine, small label inside back cover and old military institutional stamps to title-page.
