Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. MORE SHORT SIXES BY H.C. BUNNER ILLUSTRATED BY C.J. TAYLOR 1894 1ST HARD COVER. From what I gather Mr. H.C. Bunner was considered a master story-teller and best-known for his short stories. Wikipedia reports: Henry Cuyler Bunner (August 3, 1855 May 11, 1896) was an American novelist, journalist and poet. He is known mainly for the book Tower of Babel. Bunner's works have been praised by librarians for its "technical dexterity, playfulness and smoothness of finish". I am pleased to offer one of his later books- a lovely little volume titled: More Short Sixes - apparently a sequel to one titled Short Sixes which had a decidedly urban orientation. This new one seems to be about the rural life. This small hard cover book (5 ¼ x 7 ½ inches 229 pages) was published by Keppler & Schwarzmann of New York dated 1894 and a First Edition with the same date on title & copyright pages. The book is bound in a tan buckram with darker brown titles and gilt decorations on the cover and spine. The book in question was illustrated by O.J. Taylor whose works appears frequently among the pages of text. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The hard covers are generally clean and still bright and attractive. There has been some very minor wear to the corners and spine tips. Inside the book is unmarked and the pages are clean and bright without toning or foxing with the exception of smudges on the page with the frontispiece. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.…
