In den WarenkorbSoft cover. Zustand: Good. 1st Edition. THE STORY OF PENSNETT CHASE Chapters from Kingswinford History By D. R. Guttery Published by Libraries and Arts Committee Brierley Hill 1950 Published in 1950 this is the First Edition of this history of Pensnett Chase, which was a large medieval hunting ground belonging to the Lords of Du…dley Castle, it stretched across parts of the modern-day Black Country in England. While the ancient chase was formally broken up in the 18th century for industrial development, the landowners began exploiting the chase's extensive mineral wealth, including significant coal and ironstone deposits. This mining activity became more profitable than the land's use as a hunting ground, its legacy lives on in the area's rich history and in several local nature reserves that have restored parts of the landscape. The book is a slim paperback format measuring 8.5 inches tall approx., running to 47 pages, not illustrated. CONDITION The covers are browned with some marking to rear cover, small chip to lower corner of upper cover, old ownership name in pencil to top of front cover, internally some corner creasing wear else contents in good general condition.
