THERE ARE MINOR SCUFFED MARKS TO BOTH BOARDS. THE PAGE EDGES HAVE LIGHT FOXING. BOTH INSIDE BOARDS HAVE CRACKED AT THE HINGE AND THE BINDING IS EXPOSED. THE FFEP IS HEAVILY YELLOWED AND HAS FOXING. Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. Very good Everyman's Library edition of these texts. No date but circa 1910 judging by the elaborate floral pine panel. The text block is holding very firm. The cloth is a little faded but the spine lettering is still clear. The cloth is split at the foot of the spine ( about 3 cm) but not affecting the hinge. Dust accumulation to the edges of the text block commensurate with the book's age.…

Very good. $1,250. * Named after the English suffragist Emmeline Pankhurst [1858-1928], Panko was produced by the Women's Social and Political Union (WSPU) to raise funds for its activities and publicize its goals. The cards were illustrated by Edward Tennyson Reed, best-known for his illustrations for Punch. They reflect some of the key moments and characters in the Suffrage movement, such as Pankhurst wearing her WSPU sash, a Suffragist being escorted to a police station, a group of Suffragists trying to gain entry to the House of Commons, a Suffragist declaring a hunger strike in jail and an image of the attorney Christabel Pankhurst [1880-1958], Emmeline's daughter, addressing the viewer in her robes.
