The play is set in 1918 during the Allied offensive and focuses on the area of the battle known as Tunnel Trench. The play takes the view of the battle from three points of view: the RAF personnel, the troops on the ground, and the battle strategists. Condition: A good readable copy but with some rubbing to the boards and spine, and the inner binding is a little strained (no pages are loose).

It was first performed in English in 1934 and produced at the Globe Theatre, London, in 1935 with a cast including Kay Hammond and Alastair Sim. The 1936 film 'Jack of All Trades' starring Jack Hulbert was based on the play. This edition (68pp, illustrated with 2 stage set plans) is No. 890 of French's Acting Editions series, for amateur performances with stage and scenery directions.
