Oliva lacanientai n. sp. is described from Pamilacan Island, Philippines. Two specimens only were caught by nets at 100 m depth. They are not closely related to any species of Olividae known so far; their subgeneric status is doubtful. Colour and pattern of the shell recall that of the Australian Belloliva leucozona (A. Adams & Angas 1863). The very large protoconch, however, and the columella structure is closer to that of some Central-Indopacific deep water olives as Oliva dubia Schepman 1911 and Oliva rufofulgurata Schepman 1911. 7 pp., 5 figs, gr. 8.…
