The description reads '1925 is the first centenary of this famous romance'.Dimitry Gregorovitsh was a Russian writer from the nineteenth century. He was well regarded for his depictions of life of the Russian rural communities and of serfdom.Gilt to the spine and embossed cloth to the front board. In original publisher's cloth binding and unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, very smart. The dust wrapper is slightly worn to the extremities and has some pencil markings. The binding is in near fine condition with only some minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine. The front hinge is starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean.
