FIRST OMNIBUS EDITION, prelims spotted, recurrent at rear, a little open at the gutter preceding half-title, pp. [vi, 165; 158; 145, crown 8vo, original mid-blue cloth, the backstrip lettered in a darker shade, backstrip faded and the boards marked and worn, lean to spine, edges toned, rear hinge cracked but secure, fair condition. Inscribed by James Laver on the flyleaf: 'Love from one of the Authors to dear Auntie, James Laver & Veronica'. The volume collects his 'The Laburnum Tree', along with Graham Greene's 'The Basement Room' and Sylvia Townsend Warner's 'More Joy in Heaven', these being the first three in the publisher's Cresset Library series - their individual scarcity surpassed by this collected edition which, the pagination makes clear, is formed from unbound sheets of the respective titles.
