Buch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - Bei dem Äsop-Roman handelt es sich um eine Erzählung der Abenteuer des Fabeldichters Äsop (6. Jh. v. Chr.) bis zu seinem Tod in Delphi. Das Original, das vermutlich zu Beginn unserer Zeitrechnung verfasst wurde, ist verschollen, wurde aber in mehreren griechischen Fassungen überliefert. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist die Fassung anhand der Handschriften BPThSA zu erforschen und zu edieren, weil besonders sie eine vielfältige Rezeption fand.Zu Beginn des Buches werden Gattungsfrage, Aufbau und Inhalt, Tradition und Rezeption behandelt und der Stand der Forschung umrissen. Ein grosses Kapitel ist der handschriftlichen Überlieferung gewidmet mit der genauen Beschreibung der fünf in dieser Fassung enthaltenden Codices sowie der recensio innerhalb der Fassung. In vier Schritten wird danach die so erarbeite Fassung nach Inhalt und Sprache mit den drei anderen bisher als solche publizierten Versionen des Äsopromans (Westermanniana, Perriana und Planudea) sowie mit den Papyrus-Fragmenten verglichen. Ein anderes Kapitel, gegliedert nach Morphologie und Syntax, analysiert die Sprache der von der Verfasserin konstituierten Fassung. Es handelt sich dabei um eine detaillierte Bestandsaufnahme aller von klassischem Gebrauch des Griechischen abweichenden Erscheinungen, die jeweils zu verwandten Texten in Beziehung gesetzt werden. Den ersten Teil des Buches beschließen methodische Begründung und sonstige Präliminarien der kritischen Edition, die dann im zweiten Teil erfolgt.
