Oliver Gramling 11/9/42". Thuermer (1917-2010) served as a foreign correspondent for the Associated Press in Berlin. He was interned by the Nazis upon the outbreak of war between Germany and the US in December 1941, and exchanged five months later. He is referenced several times in the book, which collects reports by Associated Press journalists on the war, and has made pencilled annotations identifying unnamed correspondents.
