Simply put, the way people treat each other, how HUMAN they are, takes on a new significance and opens new horizons. The hospital is a social structure and one must be mindful of this if one is to understand the course mental disorder takes within the confines of the hospital community. We must be aware of the human qualities of the patient, and know the methods or social systems which strengthen them.
