Second Edition. Octavo, [four volumes], xviii, 386pp; xvi, 311pp; xiv, 399pp; xiv, 367, [1]. Bound in period calf, titles in gilt on spines, raised bands with decorative gilt compartments. Marbled endpapers and leaf ends. Bookseller's label affixed to front pastedown endpapers of volumes I and IV. Includes 11 numbered, fold-out maps of western Europe. Maps include the following: Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Citadel of Turin, and Siege of Alexandria. This work is complete in 4 volumes, with 11 fold-out maps. The printer released a revised and expanded version of the second edition in 1812, adding 5 additional maps (original second edition published 1801). A fifth volume, detailing the wartime history in Holland, was originally published in 1801, with a second edition in 1803.

Docketed on reverse of second leaf in a neat hand, explaining the context: 'Genl Thomas Graham | Stratton Street | 31 Janry 1803 | wrote him first febry that Peers could not be Commssrs of Supply | 1803 | 3 Febry wrote L[or]d Keith.' Graham's letter reads: 'There is the list except two names wch. L[or]d Keith wishes to have inserted & the mem[orandu]m. Of wch. I have mislaid one is the Baillie of Kinkardine [sic] for the time being I think but it wd. be best to apply to him for the proper designations & if necessary afterwards to write to Mrs. Paton abt. them I think it wd. be worth while to have this list printed - & carefully examin'd & any errors corrected I will be at the expense & then no mistake can take place in the names or designations in the act of parl[iamen]t. Transcribing them from this printed list'. He ends by asking to be advised on the matter.
