The suborder Choriplacina Starobogatov & Sirenko, 1975 is reevaluated and redefined as a suborder of the order Neoloricata. The sole living member of this suborder, Choriplax grayi, is redescribed and its habitat discussed. The family Afossochitonidae is reviewed and placed in synonymy with the Acanthochitonidae. Afossochiton is placed in the Acanthochitonidae. Lirachiton is placed in synonymy with the subgenus Bassethulia of Notoplax in the Acanthochitonidae. Glyptochitonidae is recognised and contains the genus Glyptochiton. 6 pp., 2 figs, gr. 8.

The genus Notoplax is redefined, and the monotypic genus Pseudotonicia, endemic to New Zealand, which was previously considered a synonym of Notoplax, is recognised as a distinct genus and defined. The sole member of this genus, P. cuneata, is reviewed and redescribed, and its habitat given. Similarities between Pseudotonicia and the Australian genus Bassethullia are discussed. 12 pp., 7 figs, gr. 8.

A new species, Notoplax lancemilnei sp. nov., is described from deep water off central New South Wales, Australia. It most closely resembles N. speciosa Adams but is distinguished from it by the larger, more irregular tegmentum pustules, ridges filling in part of the insertion plate grooves, and by its colour. The new species was trawled by the F.R.V. "Kapala" in 400-500 m of water. 5 pp., 3 figs, gr. 8.

A new species, Acanthochitona saundersi sp. nov., is described from Nuyts Archipelago, Spencer Gulf and Yorke Peninsula, South Australia. The new species most closely resembles A. bednallii but is distinguished from it by a narrower, deeply grooved jugum and by the spicule arrangement of the sutural tufts. The new species was located on rocks embedded in sand pockets amongst reef by divers. 4 pp., 2 figs, gr. 8.
