A concise reference work for cookery, written primarily for teachers and students of cookery, though of use for domestic use as well. The author discussed the cleaning of kitchen utensils, as well as the chemical composition of food, before going in detail into a wide variety of recipes, ranging from hearty meat dishes, to soups, to puddings. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto to the front endpaper, 'Bradford School Board presented to Annie Fieldhouse for attendance of one of the cookery classes and for excellence of work of such class and home lessons.' With two pages of publisher's adverts to the front, and sixteen pages of publisher's adverts to the rear. In a full cloth binding. Externally, smart. Some light marks to the rear. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto to the front endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with the odd spot. Very Good. book.
