Jackson stars as a boxing promoter, who, after diminishing profits on the fights of his undefeated heavyweight boxing champ, played by Damon Wayans, decides the audience is tired of watching black boxers fight each other and predicts a white contender would create a huge payday. When Jackson discovers the champ actually lost to a white boxer in his amateur days, who now fronts a heavy metal band in Cleveland, played Peter Berg, he convinces him to fight and goes into heavy training, while the champ takes it easy and falls out of shape.
