A woman in San Francisco during WWII does not want to get into a serious relationship with any soldier before he goes off to war until she meets one soldier who wants to change her mind. No Binding. Zustand: Fine. 1st Edition. A very nice-condition Finnish movie poster for the 1941 movie NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH starring Bob Hope, Paulette Goddard, Edward Arnold & Leif Erickson. The film did not reach Finland until 1943 with no further theatrical re-release. The poster measures approximately 18" x 24", standard for the era depending on Studio/printer Condition: C8, Fine/Very Fine No pinholes or other obvious signs of mounting - an unmounted example . In astonishingly clean condition. Very thin paper-stock as you would expect, the chief condition issue with this poster are the prominent folds in both directions and a small area of creasing & discolouration along the right edge near the top, where there is also a tiny nick. The folds do not show any discolouration or holes etc along the seams. Otherwise in Fantastic condition, vibrant and vivid, stylish graphics, remarkable. Juni 1910 in Whitestone Landing, New York; ? 23. April 1990 in Ronco sopra Ascona, Schweiz; eigentlich Pauline Marion Levy) war eine US-amerikanische Schauspielerin, die unter anderem mit Charlie Chaplin und Erich Maria Remarque verheiratet war. In Chaplins Filmen Moderne Zeiten und Der große Diktator spielte sie die weibliche Hauptrolle. In den 1940er Jahren wurde sie bei Paramount Pictures zum Star und erhielt für Mutige Frauen eine Oscar-Nominierung als beste Nebendarstellerin. Die Angaben über ihr Geburtsdatum variieren; so behauptete Claire Trevor, die mit Goddard zur Schule ging, diese sei 1909 geboren. Paulette Goddard debütierte bereits im Alter von 13 Jahren bei den Ziegfeld Follies von Florenz Ziegfeld Jr. und heiratete mit 16 Jahren den Broadway-Autor Edgar James. Sie zog mit ihm in die Casa Monte Tabor in Porto Ronco, wo sie bis zu ihrem Tod 1990 lebte. Wie ihre vorigen Ehen blieb auch die Ehe mit Remarque kinderlos. 1972 war sie letztmals als Schauspielerin zu sehen, in der Fernsehserie The Snoop Sisters neben Helen Hayes und Mildred Natwick. Goddards Grab in der Schweiz Goddard war bekannt für ihr Talent in finanziellen Dingen und sammelte zeit ihres Lebens Juwelen und Antiquitäten. Ab 1977, sieben Jahre nach Remarques Tod, verkaufte sie nach und nach seine umfangreiche Kunstsammlung.[1] Am 23. April 1990 starb sie im Alter von 79 Jahren.
