Contents of the book are clean and neat with only occasional mild foxing. First few leaves are bumped to the top front corner. Leather chipped at base of spine; rear board detached at hinge. Upper front corner of board has damp mottling to paper with some mild chipping at the edges. Extensive selection of mid 19th century hymns and musical pieces, all with notation. Cloth. Zustand: Good. A scarce collection of works from the watercolour painter and landscape artist George Pinwell and George Mason. Illustrated with sixteen woodcut plates from original drawings by G. J. Pinwell. These works were exhibited at The Royal Society of Artists in Birmingham in 1895. The work explores the group of idyllists, to which mason and Pinwell belonged, Pinwell and his art, the character of George Mason's painting and includes a catalogue of the works. In original paper binding. Externally, a trifle rubbed with marks to boards and closed tear to front board. Edges of boards are bumped and head of spine missing.
