In the 1930s he regularly appeared on BBC Radio and began writing articles on gypsy food and lore for 'The Listener'. He also established a mail order business 'Petulengro's Herbal Products', and wrote 5 on Romany related subjects, including this volume of gypsy remedies and recipes.
