In 16 (cm 10,5 x 15), pp. 31 + (1). Brossura rifatta con carta d'epoca. Interessante e rara antologia poetica stampata a Ferrara composta daÂdue odi e ventidue sonetti. Si segnalano in particolare il terzo e il quarto sonetto che recano in calce a stampa il nome dell'autore nel "Sig. Conte Vittorio Alfieri Torinese". Si tratta di: "Lo stato attuale d'Europa" ("Ancor l'Ungaro suol d'ossa biancheggia, / E il Russo mar flutti sanguigni reca.") e "Sul destino di Parigi" ("Cadra' Parigi!: eterna man dall'alto / Con equa lance il suo destin gia' libra."). L'attribuzione alfieriana venne in realta' gia' smentita vivente l'Alfieri (e nel caso delÂsonetto pariginoÂda parte dello stesso poeta). Il sonetto veniva dato, sia pure con qualche riserva, come alfieriano, nel numero di marzo 1794 dell'Antologia romana (ma l'anno prima era appunto uscito in questa raccolta stampata a Ferrara e all'Alfieri attribuito). Il poeta aveva rifiutato questa paternita' tanto e' vero che il 20 marzo 1793 scriveva cosi' all'Albergati Capacelli: "Corrono per l'Italia sonetti pure peggiori de' miei che passano pure per miei, come uno che viene da Roma e comincia 'Cadra' Parigi.' Ella non ci dia retta" (Cfr. Marco Sterpos, "Il primo Alfieri e oltre", 1994, p. 188). Presente inoltre nella raccolta il sonetto XIV "Sul fatto di Roma" di Vincenzo Monti ("Dell'empio Gallo alle minacce all'onte / La bella sposa di Gesu' si scosse"),Âun'ode Alla Santita' di N.S. Papa Pio Sesto di Leopoldo Cicognara, mentre il sonetto I, "All'ombra di Voltaire", scritto da "un pastore arcade" e' attribuito a Giovanni Pindemonte, fratello di Ippolito. In questa pubblicazioneÂconfluirono alcune poesie presenti in un manoscritto conservato presso la Biblioteca del Museo Civico di Padova, intitolato appunto "Collezione di poetici componimenti sopra le circostanze d'Europa" in cuiÂerano infattiÂpresenti i due sonetti attribuiti ad Alfieri che comparivano, pero', senza la data e con il nome di Alfieri apposto da una mano diversaÂrispetto a quella che avevaÂvergato i versi.
