Hardcover. Zustand: Good. Hardcover. Blue cloth over boards with gold stamped crossed swords on front cover and gold lettering on spine. Title page and copyright page dated 1866. 291 pages. Book is in good condition. Some wear to cover, particularly along edges. Cloth is split at corners, exposing a bit of the boards underneath. The outer layer of cloth at the head and foot of spine has torn off along a straight edge approximately 1/8th inch from the edges of the spine. Underneath is a different shade of blue cloth. Other than a bit of rubbing and a few light scuffs, the front and back covers remain clean, with bright stamping. Binding remains strong, just slightly shelf-cocked. Page edges are toned, and there is even discoloration to pages. Here and there are small marks to paper from age, but they are few. Personal stamp in faded ink on title page. Pages are free of tears. Book is overall sturdy and well-preserved. Frontispiece illustration features black and white equestrian portrait.
