Cette publication (pp. 71-75) est le complément du texte sur "les troubles de la marche dans l'hémiplégie organique étudiés à l'aide du cinématographe" paru dans la Semaine Médicale l'année précédente. Le but de Marinesco est de montrer les avantages que présente l'application du cinématographe à l'étude des troubles de la marche. Dans cet article, Marinesco estime que la cinématographie apporte quelque lumière à la question du mécanisme de la contracture et de ses relations avec l'exagération des réflexes. Il propose 3 classes de paraplégies : 1°). tous les muscles des membres inférieurs sont à l'état de contracture ou d'hypertonie généralisée ; l'hypertonie ne s'accompagne pas d'exagération des réflexes ; 2°). la contracture est prédominante dans une série de muscles, bien que leurs antagonistes soient également contracturés ; exagération des réflexes ; 3°). Les fléchisseurs de la jambe sont en état d'hypotonie et leurs antagonistes, les extenseurs, en hypertonie ; les réflexes sont exagérés ou même très exagérés. Cet article est illustré de 72 petites figures, série d'images successives décomposant le mouvement chez un patient. "Early in his career, he published a much needed atlas on the pathological histology of the nervous system with the bacteriologist Victor Babeş and the French pathologist Paul Oscar Blocq. His description with Blocq, of a case of Parkinsonian tremor due to tumour in the substantia nigra in 1893, was the basis for Édouard Brissaud's theory that Parkinsonism occurs as a consequence of damage to the substantia nigra. With Paul Blocq he was the first to senile plaques and with Romanian neurologist Ion Minea confirmed in 1913 Hideyo Noguchi's discovery of Treponema pallidum in the brain in patients with general paresis.
