In den WarenkorbPaperback. Zustand: Very Good. Some of those who suffered at the hands of the Japanese during World War II and have subsequently written of their experiences are at pains to say they bear no grudge. George Wright-Nooth is not cast in that mould. He was a trainee Colonial Police officer studying for his Chinese-language exams when the Japanese invaded Hong Kong, and was to spend the next four years incarcerated in a prison camp. He kept a diary which remained undiscovered, and from which extracts form much of this first-hand account of suffering and brutality during the terrible years of the Japanese occupation. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged.

In den Warenkorb8vo., First Edition, with numerous plates; black cloth, a near fine copy in the dustwrapper. SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR ON TITLE. Astonishingly detailed and extremely harrowing account of life and death in Stanley camp. The author, who during four years' captivity managed miraculously to preserve scraps of a diary on which this work is based, survived the war to become Deputy Commissioner of the Royal Hong Kong Police. A mostvaluable memoir and already uncommon in this condition.
