Complete with 762, 879 and 934 pages, and 261 listed illustrations including 76 fine steel or copper engraved plates. This is a very solid and clean copy, bound in red and grey cloth - although it is ex University of Nottingham Library, with labels to endpapers and small ink stamp to title pages but nowhere else. Page edges are untrimmed and there are some short tears to a few page edges, but the pages and plates are clean with hardly any foxing. Pages 907-928 in the final volume have come loose from the binding but are all present. Quoted price includes delivery in the UK - outside the UK will ship but it will be at considerable cost.

Bound in Vol 1 Pt 2 is ' Streets of Chester' by Hughes this is a separate publication, 1880, by Sotheran, all 29 street scene etchings are present. Vol 2 Pt 2 also includes 2 original hand cold political cartoons. These are not called for and their inclusion is at the behest of the original owner. This is then, a unique set. The Ormerod is the large paper copy issued by subscription. The ' Hughes ' is a limited edition of 300 copies ( 100 of which, including this copy, are on India paper. ) The 6 book set is bound in full crimson morocco ( by Fazakerley, Liverpool ) lettered and beautifully decorated in gilt with marbled eps and aeg. The corners and edges are a trifle rubbed and Vol 3 Pt 2 has a little ink staining to the front board. Overall a very handsome, unique, set.
