First edition, written through 1841 â" here offering… the first part, which is arranged in three sections. Each section deals with hemorrhages in great detail. The third section includes a chapter on hemorrhoids, then apoplexy. Auguste-Nicolas Gendrin was at that time working for the l'Hopital de la Pitie Salpêtriere.

Louis-Henri-Joseph de Bourbon Conde , prince de Conde died under mysterious circumstances of strangulation. He was the last prince in the line. Dr. Gendrin was consulted. Was the death accidental? suicide? or murder. All were possib…le. Gendrin's report occupied 55 pages in the March issue of "Transactions médicales". This apparently lengthier account appears to be the first separate edition. I find no other copies of this. Note: the Bourbon prince was found strangled with his feet on the floor. A later possible explanation was suggested to be explained by what is now known as autoeroticism.
