She has a Research Masters Degree in Art History Theory from COFA, UNSW and has received several significant…grants from national and state funding bodies including: 2001 ARTSWA Creative Development Fellowship; and 1997 Australia Council Milan Studio Residency, Italy.Until 2014, she held a fractional senior lecturer position in the School of Design; Art, Curtin University, Perth and was Director International for the School between 2012â"14. She is currently working part time with Culture and the Arts, Department of Local Government, Sport, Cultural Industries (DLGSC).Pamela exhibits nationally and internationally and was represented by Galerie Düsseldorf in Perth, until its recent closure. She has published three monographs on her art practice, and a book:ÂThe Decorative in Twentieth Century Art: A Story of Decline and Resurgence, Gaunt P., (VDM Publishing, Germany) 2010.The main underpinning to Pamelaâs art practice stems from a longstanding interest in aesthetics, with a focus on: the ornamental in Art, Design; Architecture; materiality; and sensorial (affective) approaches to art. She is interested in exploring the spaces between Art, Design and Architecture and has peripheral interests in aspects of science, technology and sustainable/environmental issues. This can be exemplified in projects she has completed that explore new approaches to incorporating electro-chromic and solar responsiveness in artwork. Pamela also enjoys working with industry collaborators using existing materials and processes to achieve new approaches to materiality and form.Through various art commissions over the past decade, Pamela has become interested in incorporating illumination into her work. The current series of prototypes produced between 2016-17 reflect this interest, on a small scale, but have large-scale application potential. All uniformly bound in cloth of varying colour, with titles front and spine. All illustrated. 16mos. All volumes in generally very good condition, some are slightly pushed at spine ends…, most have a little dust marking to the upper text block edge, and some have a previous owner's name or inscription internally, else are neat, clean and tight. All in illustrated dust wrappers, shelf worn, rubbed and bumped at edges, a little scuffed at ends of lightly sunned spines; spine titles faded on some. Flags, Ships, Cacti and Birds are price clipped (Ships clumsily so). All reprints or revised editions issued between 1957 and 1965. Observer's Pocket books is a series of pocket-sized books published by Frederick Warne and covering topics such as hobbies, art, nature and history. The first in the series - British Birds - was published in 1937. The 99th title, the Observer's Book of Observer's Books was released in 1999 (by Peregrine Books) in a matching format. The series was rounded to 100 with the publication of Wayside and Woodland in 2003. Many of the titles have been revised, reprinted, updated and released in different dust wrappers over the years - it is estimated that there are some 800 variations - and have become collectible: the earlier numbers and rarer issues can be hard to find We have many books from the Observer Pocket Book series in stock and can offer generous discounts to those ordering more than one at a time.
