Gray & Son, Cambridge, in half brown morocco with blue marbled boards, lettered in gilt to backstrip, gilt rules, a little rubbed and worn, the boards close to detached, t.e.g., some browning to edges from leather, sound. A scarce book, this the author's own copy; a selection of stories encountered by Gaselee, whilst Pepys Librarian at Magdalene College (also engaged on war-work at the Foreign Office) and cataloguing the Coptic manuscripts at Cambridge University Library, with charming illustrations by his Eton contemporary (and fellow King's Scholar) John Mavrogordato.
