Pages are lightly tanned throughout. Heavier to endpapers and pastedowns. Tears to some pages, text remains unaffected. Severe cracking to hinges causing boards to be loose and rear free endpaper detached but still present. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Light tanning to spine and edges.

An only sporadically accurate history - some of the earlier chapters are pure fantasy, but the later ones provide a useful insight into 19th century attitudes.
