Lawrence's Seven Pillars of Wisdom. Issued in connection with the exhibition held 5-19 February 1927, the notice n…ames artists including Augustus John, Eric Kennington, Paul Nash, William Roberts, Frank Dobson and William Rothenstein. The exhibition followed publication of Lawrence's legendary privately printed Seven Pillars of Wisdom (1926), the Cranwell Edition, produced in a total edition of 211 copies, including 170 complete subscriber copies. Single sheet, printed recto only. 13.8 × 20.3 cm. Near fine overall with original folds and light age toning. A highly desirable piece of Lawrence of Arabia ephemera linking the publication of Seven Pillars of Wisdom with the artists responsible for one of the most celebrated illustrated books of the twentieth century. Institutional examples of the related exhibition catalogue are known, but we have not located a separate institutional record for this individual notice. It may be apparently unrecorded as a distinct item.
