Zustand: Assez bon. 1 vol. in-4 (tome 4 seul); (4), 196 pp., 46 planches (numérotées de 132 à 177) et 1 portrait(Gall), demi-chagrin à petits coins noir, dos à nerfs orné de filets dorés, toile des plats un peu défraîchie, quelques rousseurs pâles dans le texte, planche 168 partiellement déreliée avec déchirur…es marginales, déchirure marginale au feuillet 83/84, certaines planches plus ou moins brunies (comme souvent). Tome 4 seul (complet en soi), de cet ouvrage curieux et rare, surtout complet de toutes ses planches. L'ouvrage avait paru initialement par livraisons (de 24 pages et 6 planches chacune) entre 1835 et 1841. L'exemplaire proposé ici correspond à un nouveau tirage, avec impression d'une nouvelle page de titre à la date de 1853, Ce tome est consacré au système nerveux et à l'appareil de la génération ; une partie est consacrée au système de Gall. Il contient 46 belles planches lithographiées en couleurs (parfois d'après Scarpa ou Arnold) et un portrait de Gall. Le texte est à deux colonnes, l'une pour l'anatomie, l'autre pour la physiologie. Il était destiné à un large public. Galet fut chef de clinique à la faculté de Médecine de Montpellier.
