In den WarenkorbSoft cover. Zustand: Very Good. 1st Edition. The sole UK printing published by The Scolar Press for The Ilkley Literature Festival, Ilkley in April 1973. A collection of poems commissioned for the inaugural 'Ilkley Literature Festival' which had been opened by W.H. Auden during the last year of his life. The publication comprises a green card printed folder with some mild creasing and edge-west to the edges, a 24 page pamphlet giving the text of the poems (in fine condition) and 25 loose leaves of facsimile manuscript of the commissioned poems, including two leaves of Auden's 'Lullaby'. The Scolar Press printed facsimiles of these contributions on white laid paper. The paper is watermarked 'L'Amatruda' and originates from a paper mill in Amalfi, Salerno (Italy). These facsimile manuscripts are loosely contained within a pocket at the rear inside cover of the card folder and are all in Fine condition. The 10 contributing fellow-poets were commissioned 'to take a title or epigraph from one of Auden's published works as a starting point for an original composition'. Each of the 10 facsimile poems has been hand signed a second time by the poets themselves in addition to the facsimile signature already present in the production. It is highly likely that very few sets were signed by all contributors. Collectible. More images available on request. Ashton Rare Books welcomes direct contact. Signed by Author(s).
