Bayes's theorem is one of the most widely applied theorems in computing. This copy is from the library of American physicist Raymond T. Birge, chair of the Department of Physics at the University of California, Berkeley. Birge's interest in statistics led to a collaboration with W. Edwards Deming, founder of the quality control movement, with whom he co-authored the classic paper "On the statistical theory of errors" (1934).
