FRICK, GEORGE FREDERICK / STEARNS, RAYMOND PHINEAS, 1904-1970. Mark Catesby: the colonial Audubon. Urbana: University of Illinois Press, 1961, x, 137pp., . This book examines both Catesby's life and his impact as a naturalist. - CONTENTS: Catesby the man. The background of a naturalist -- The apprenticeship of a naturalist, 1712-22 -- The naturalist in the field -- The Natural History : twenty years of labor -- Catesby's last years -- Catesby the naturalist.
