Hardcover. Zustand: Good. The blue boards are lightly rubbed with stain to back fore edge, with some bumping to the edges, with clear title to the spine and discoloured. Tanned and foxing to page edges and inside covers, name label to inside cover with note saying 1st edition 1904. Foxing and some cracks to hinges throughout, with slight odour. The binding is firm. The pages otherwise appear clean and tanned. This book has 472 pages. All in all a nice example of this book.

Contains tissue-guarded frontispiece, (viii), 80 pp with 14 full-page single sided monochrome archive photographs on coated art paper throughout. In Very Good clean and bright condition. Loosely enclosed letter dated 13th September 1924 on Gieves letter-headed paper from the Cadet Department to Captain W. A. Norman R.N.R. Danecourt, Spring Hill, Swanage, referring to this out of print book which has just arrived at Gieves, the letter ends 'Would you be so good as to let me know on the enclosed postcard (enclosed) the name and date of birth of the prospective candidate so that I may confirm to you when he will be eligible age for examination' SIGNED by the editor 'P. D. Thompson', Director. Member of the P.B.F.A. ROYAL NAVY (RN).
