In the publisher's decorative original purple cloth, with blind stamp detail. Contains a colour frontispiece, and all ilustrations, including those on plates. Collated complete. Publisher's original advertisements to the rear. An intriguing look at giants that are displayed within cities including London, Antwerp, Brussells and Norwich, providing information and the fictional tales behind each. He looked at number of niche histories since elected a fellow of the Society of Antiquaries in 1844, including on tobacco and on costumes. In the publisher's decorative original purple cloth, with blind stamp detail. Externally, mostly smart, with slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine, and to the extremities. Slight fading to joints and edges. Brown end papers are clean, with a couple of faint marks. Minor browning to previous owner's bookplate to front pastedown.
