Quarter brown linen over coarse-woven ivory cloth; xxv,895; [900]pp. Slight rubbing to spine titles, else tight and clean - Near Fine; in the publisher's white cloth slipcase, slightly soiled at edges but still Very Good. Scholarly facsimile, with extensive historical commentary, of Fuchs' landmark herbal of 1542, the first up to its time to utilize highly accurate, detailed illustrations to allow positive identification of its subjects. A handsomely-produced edition, nicely preserved in its original slipcase.
