With numerous full-page illustrations, headpieces, initials and numerous other illustrations in the text. Nice copy. This is a heavy book so please check postage with bookseller.

Artwork predominantly by English-American illustrator Harry Fenn, who became increasingly popular for his landscapes towards the end of the nineteenth century. Collated, complete. Fascinating travel work from Frederick Diodati Thompson. Thompson kept a meticulous diary documenting his journeys, particularly through China and India, which are immortalised in this volume. In the publisher"s original blue cloth binding. With a prize bookplate to the front paste down, dated 1907. Externally, smart with slight bumping and rubbing, leading to minor loss of cloth at spine head and tail, and a few marks to boards. Internally, firmly bound.
