Bound in half crushed morocco, with gilt lettering. Rebound with new endpapers. With frontis and three plates. The text is collated complete. With four only of the thirteen plates (including frontis). Johann Alois Senefelder (1771 1834) was an German actor and playwright who invented the printing technique of lithography in 1796. A Complete Course of Lithography combined Senefelder's history of his own invention with a practical guide to lithography, and remained in print into the early 20th century Bound in half crushed morocco, with gilt lettering. There is mild wear to the extremities, including some bumping and some clear tape. There are the remains of some labels on the front endpapers. A copperplate ink inscription from the original endpapers has been stuck to the front pastedown. The binding is tight and firm. Internally the pages are bright with intermittent mild background spotting and the very occasional handling mark. The frontis and page 331 have been reinforced along the gutter with cloth tape. The title page and a few pages have been reinforced along the gutter with clear tape. Very Good. book.
