In den Warenkorbpaperback. Zustand: Good. Our good condition books are generally good for reading but not for gifting or collecting. They could have imperfections such as creasing, fanning, inscriptions, margin notes, yellowing, staining on edge or cover or pages, bumps, scuffs, etc etc (sometimes multiple of these). It's a wide category that encompasses anything that isn't almost-new down to anything that is slightly better than poor. We would NOT recommend gifting Good books - these should be considered reading copies. Our books are dispatched from a Yorkshire former cotton mill. We list via barcode/ISBN so please note that the images are stock images and may not be the exact copy you receive, furthermore the details about edition and year might not be accurate as many publishers reuse the same ISBN for multiple editions and as we simply scan a barcode or enter an ISBN we do not check the validity of the edition data when listing. If you're looking for an exact edition please don't order (at least not without checking with us first, although we don't always have time to check). We aim to dispatch prompty, the service used will depend on order value and book size. We can ship to most countries, see our shipping policies. Payment is via Abe only.

Hardcover. Zustand: Fine. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Near Fine dj. Illustrated by (dj design) Fred Marcellino (illustrator). First Edition. [nice tight clean book with no discernible wear; the jacket has a touch of edgewear only]. (B&W photographs) Indispensible, well-researched story of the formation of the Screen Writers Guild (later re-named the Writers Guild of America), based on diaries, letters, newspaper clippings and hundreds of interviews with the participants. Laid in to this copy are two interesting pieces of ephemera: (1) a 4-page "Brief History of Writers Guild of America," dated 1989, which appears to have been a handout issued by the Guild itself ; (2) a page from the March 1999 issue of the "Written By Member News" (a WGAw publication) containing an exchange of letters between Sheila Schwartz (protesting the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' controversial decision to award an Honorary Oscar to Elia Kazan), and the response from then-AMPAS Executive Director Bruce Davis, explaining and defending the Academy's decision; both letters incorporate personal reminiscences of author Nancy Lynn Schwartz, who died shortly before completing the book. ****NOTE that additional postage charges will be assessed for international shipping of this somewhat heavy book; if this concerns you, please contact us for a shipping quote before placing your order. Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - Recreation, Leisure, and Chronic Illness bridges the gap between leisure and thanatology. Professionals know that when illness, disability, stress, or poverty threaten the quantity and quality of a person's life, leisure takes on great meaning. Readers will find in this truly unique book how leisure can be a positive counterforce to the physical and mental diminishments that erode health and work. Contributors to Recreation, Leisure and Chronic Illness explore the philosophy of leisure and how freedom, enjoyment, self-determination, and breaking the set patterns of daily life are central to true leisure for persons in all walks of life. They then go farther and illustrate the need for leisure in a wide variety of settings and in the face of multiple threats to both the quantity and the quality of life.
