Hardcover. Zustand: Near Fine Minus. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Very Good. 1st UK Edition. 12mo., 190pp. Sharp "Copyright" Edition, the novelization of the play of the same name. Illustrated with scenes from the play, Undated but actually 1929. Square, tight and clean throughout with just a hint of page edge toning. Very minor wear to spine ends and edges with a couple of miniscule nicks at the crown. Still very well=preserved for a notoriously fragile and cheaply made book. Very attractive unclipped, though unpriced, dust-jacket, has some tiny chips to edges and tips Still quite fresh and bright. A very pretty copy of a quite scarce title in any condition. (Hubin, p.408).

Play first produced on Broadway the same year (Laurence Olivier played the role of Hugh Bromilow), and adapted into a novel, two films, including the 1932 version starring John Longden, and a television special.
