Hardcover. Zustand: Good Minus. Frontispiece by Frank Tenney Johnson. (illustrator). Western set in the desert ranchlands of the Ruby Valley and the town of Standing Rock. Frontispiece loose but extant. Blue cloth boards with black-stamped illustrated cover & spine. 311 pages, wear & soil to covers. Author Harry Sinclair Drago, 1887-1979, was a prolific writer of fiction and non-ficion books and screenplays, many in the Western genre, often working under a variety of pseudonyms. Artist Frank Tenney Johnson was an early 20th century illustrator whose work appeared in magazines such as Harper's Weekley, Field & Stream, and Boys' Life, as well as many of Zane Grey's western novels.
First edition. 144 pages. Mr Sinclair explains in the foreword, "If there is one discernible and overriding idea that emerges through all of the ferment and questioning and searching-one idea that survives the manifold and varied experiences and insights that I have touched on in the following pages-I believe it is still the Eckhartian understanding that all mediation must be alien to God, or better yet, alien to the Supreme Principle, the Absolute. Inextricably related to this is Eckhart's profound understanding that the ground of things is nothingness, the abyss of the Godhead. This is the unfolding reality that informs what I have written." Cloth bound in dust jacket in new condition.
